how hard is it to cook rice???
this has been my 3rd attempt since moving here and each time it turns out to be hard and crusty. i’m trying it again for the 2nd time. i’m having some longa (my term for this filipino sausage that my mom makes me incase of emergency - like there’s nothing else in the fridge)
don’t get me wrong. i know how to cook rice in one of those rice cookers. it’s just… i’m using this microwave one that my mom bought me. first of all, it bubbles up and all this rice/water drips out and all over the microwave (so i have to place it on something)

i just checked after 13 mins and now there’s hardly any water, but it’s still on the dry side so i added a half a cup of water. i’m running it for another 8 mins. DAMN I’M HUNGRY and you can’t eat longa without rice!
if this doesn’t work, i am going to have to go downstairs and buy some cooked rice from my neighbor Cynthia’s restaurant!
