tired & paypal & not done
Tuesday, December 5th, 2006my gosh. it’s 1:58 in the morning. i know that i’m tired and i should probably go to sleep as i will be at a career fair advertising tomorrow. it’s just there are so many things that i want to finish for my for rx strategies. i started working this morning at 9am and it’s been non-stop except for a 1hr dinner out.
paypal has been a pain in the a$$. my business partner and i decided to purchase a paypal solution that would be more expensive, but the experience for the customer is better. well, these people didn’t say that you need to be a computer programer or something! my gosh! so we downgraded to the standard solution.
being that i am also the “director of the IT department” (it defaults to me as kevin sucks with the computer and i don’t even think he knows what a URL is.) the problem that i ran into was that i am using a mac and i didn’t the html pages to paste the code that was automatically generated for me for a ‘add to cart” button. i got some instructions from paypals help department and it turns out i just had to string everything together with the “& ” sign. it was sent out as a hyperlink. i don’t even know if i’m explaining right, but let’s just say that it worked!
i’ve forgotten how i used to love computers … i was so excited to create the website and just trying to figure out the whol “add to cart” etc. i remember when i first started the pharmaceutical industry, i was the go-to-girl when it came down to the computer or whatever applications we were working with.
gosh - how did i loose my way from doing some of the things that i enjoyed? learning new things about technology and applying it really turns me on - not in a sexual way, but … i really enjoy it. am i a nerd? i think that i probably am and i’m just hoping that people don’t notice.
here’s the link to my website. i’m sure that there are still little details that needs to be fixed, but please be kind as it’s the first website that i’ve ever built.
i had the opportunity in one of my marketing classes in school, but i left that up to the other boys in my group and i took care of the other part of the assignment. that was dumb of me… what if i discovered that i wanted to do computer science rather than business - marketing???
well, i guess i better go to bed…
