my adventure with my NICKIE
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007oh my gosh! i was dying last night. i left walnut at about 6:45 in the evening. i planned on leaving earlier to have lunch with my friend amy in LA, but i ended up canceling because my dog NICKIE was filthy dirty from being an outdoor one. i couldn’t find a place that can take her in to do a FULL -HEAVY DUTY cleaning. so it ended up that my mom and i did it in the bathtub - like the way we used to do it when NICKIE was a puppy- before my nephew andrew was born and before she had to become an outdoor dog. my mom got frustrated with how gentle and slow i was so she pushed me over and just did it herself. i got stuck being the shampoo bottle holder - the job that she originally had. we washed and shampooed her three times until the water was clear. the shampoo that i bought was a “SPA” shampoo so she smelled soooo goood!! i was drying NICKIE off with a towel when mom got frustrated with me and whipped out hair hairdryer and diffuser - so the blast of air isn’t so concentrated .
that was so funny. in the past, NICKIE usually fights and runs like a mad man, but now, she just tries to find her balance. she can’t run anymore. i laugh, but it’s because i love little NICS-NICS. my brother came home and he and i finally talked. aside from the little “hi”s here and there just for the sake of my dad. we talked about how she’s been and how she eats more if the food is on the floor. i let my brother carry her into my car. we put the doggie bed on the floor of the pasenger side, but she didn’t like it there and was scared. i lifted her up and put her on my lap. she stayed there the whole time. it was probably good otherwise she might’ve gotten car sick not being able to see her surroundings. i took a towel and filled in the cracks between the seat and the center console with a towel and there she slept. and snored. and snored. and snored. my god this dog snores! she almost crippled. she can hardly see and she’s almost deaf, but she sure can SNORE!
i grabbed some food at mcdonalds for dinner and i let her out. she did number 2 on the grass which made me excited because i got to used the pooper scooper that you never have to touch the poop with. HERE’S A LINK if you are interested.

it’s a great product. i got excited again, because i got to use the butt wipes and wiped her butt. i don’t want dog doo doo all over my pants and my car!
well, it was late and i was really fighting to stay awake. i know that’s bad. i had my normal sleep fighting arsenal: mints, cold air and music. NON OF THEM WORKED. although about 50 miles away from home, i spoke with my FRENCHIE and that kinda helped to wake me up a little. so 10 miles away, NICKIE starts acting funny … almost like she wants to go outside. i thought she wanted to look outside, so i propped her up higher.
she wanted to go outside because i felt a warm liquid oozing down that my jeans quickly soaked up. YUCK. we were like … almost there!!!! i can’t blame the dog though. i should’ve let her out again. it was just sooo late and dark outside and i was so tired that it didn’t click.
we got home by 1:15am. i set up some water and let her stumble around to get a feel of her new surrounding. threw my cloths in the wash and i jumped into the shower. i felt so tired and peed on and gross!
we fell asleep late. i showed her where her water is upstairs and where she needs to take care of her bathroom stuff. i placed her bed on the floor next to my bed. stretched out my harm and scratched her head until we both fell asleep.
i woke up late this morning. around 7 am at first, fell sleep again after seeing NICKIE was okay, woke up again at 10 to find her on my lounge area chillin’ under the skylight licking her foot. crazy dog!
i scoped the area to make sure she didn’t do number 2 anywhere. SHE DIDN’T!!! but that wasn’t a success because i saw that she peed near my printer. cleaned that up and wondered if i should just leave her bathroom pad there.
i let her outside in the balcony and showed her again where she has to go do the DO. she stumbled around enjoying her new environment. she came inside and looked around. found her food and water … found my shaggy carpet. sat there. laid there. GOOD. that means she’s not going to do anything there.
WRONG! i saw her about to take a shit! maybe she thought the shag looked like grass or something. i ran over - not screaming so she didn’t get all scared and constipated - and carried her outside to the poop pad. she dropped a little load. i let her smell that area so she knows where she needs to do her business. YES! SUCCESS!
well, not 100% as this little pee machine peed on my hardwood floors. grabbed a pee pee pad, soaked a bit of urine on that and let her smell it. hopefully her sense of smell is good and she can locate where the pee pad is inside.
thank goodness i bought a cleaner and smell remover!
she’s under my desk now snoring again.
